New defib for Dundee Botanic Gardens

Publication date 22 July 2019

Dundee's Botanic Garden has welcomed a new item to its collection - not an exotic plant, but a life-saving defibrillator!

Local St John Scotland volunteers supported the Friends of the Dundee Botanic Garden group to order and install the device, which was purchased thanks to donations by the West End group and Rotary Club.

Alison Gordon, secretary of the Friends, said: “We decided there was a need for it in the gardens because of the demographic of our visitors. We also have a few fun runs a couple of times a year and although we hope it is never used, it is good to have it there for emergencies.”

Dundee Botanic Gardens are open to the public throughout the year, and the defibrillator is available at reception if needed in an emergency.
