Inspirational Perth schoolgirl, Rebecca Morrison, has raised £500 for St John Scotland – and benefited a second good cause at the same time.

Rebecca, 10, agreed to have her long locks trimmed to raise money for the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem, which St John Scotland has supported for many years, alongside running our own projects at home.

As well as raising the cash, Rebecca’s hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust to be made into wigs, benefiting children who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other illnesses.

Kinnoull Primary School pupil Rebecca said: “I really wanted to do something to raise money for charity and help out people in need. I got 40 people to sponsor me and was really pleased I managed to raise so much!”

Rebecca’s Dad, Ian, is a volunteer with St John Scotland. He said: “I’m so proud of Rebecca for taking this on herself to raise money for St John Scotland, at the same time donating her hair to benefit children who have lost theirs due to cancer treatment. She’s got the fundraising bug now and I think it might be the first of many challenges to come!”

If you fancy taking on a fundraising challenge like Rebecca to support our life-saving and life enhancing work, we’d love to her from you! Drop us a line at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
