The Dundee Festival of Remembrance 2023
The Dundee Festival of Remembrance 2023 was held in the Caird Hall on Saturday evening and stands as a mark of remembrance for all those who have served and continue to serve in the defence of our freedoms, and is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by so many. This year the event takes on even greater significance as we mark 70 years since the end of the Korean War.
The team representing St John Scotland at this year's event was made up of volunteers from our Patient Transport Service and Community First Responders. They are (L-R) James Williamson, Angus and Dundee, Robert Christie, Fife, Rev Stephen Blakey, Perth and Kinross, Douglas Pover, Perth and Kinross, Donald Moore, Angus and Dundee, Findlay Macrae, Fife.
James Williamson said, "we come together to honour those who gave their all, ensuring that their memory lives on in our hearts and minds for generations to come."
With the participation of esteemed performers such as the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, Nathan Ogston, Alison Ross, and The High School of Dundee Pipe Band, the festival was a fitting, moving and memorable occasion.
