John Ferguson-Smith's retirement as Hospitaller

The Board of St John Scotland held a dinner at The New Club, Edinburgh, on Wednesday 24 May 2023 to mark the retirement as Hospitaller of John Ferguson-Smith.

John was appointed as Hospitaller in 2017, and stood down earlier this year, although he remains a regular attender at St John events both in his native Perth and Kinross and nationally. The Prior and Chancellor presented John with an engraved glass bowl, which incorporates the coats of arms of both the Priory and of the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem, to mark his tenure.
